My latest Inspiration

Legs1 copy
What motivates you? What makes you get out of bed or get your butt off the couch? What keeps you working out and what keeps you going season after season?

The picture of those legs is what has motivated me to keep riding for a long time! I want legs like that!!

Like many, I am not the most naturally gifted athlete. I have always played and enjoyed sports - sometimes even competitively - but I no longer dream of riding in the professional peloton at the Tour De France or playing on the PGA tour or hitting balls at Wimbledon. I gave up those dreams somewhere along the way...

I still have goals though! My main goal is to not become a fat slob of a guy. I want to be fit ...and someday maybe even skinny again. I love competing - whether its beating my playing partners on the golf course, or logging more miles on my bike than my best friend, Doug, (which I again did this year!) or whatever - I love to compete. But I'm finding that the older I get the more I need new challenges to keep me motivated.

Triathlete So... this next year, I want to do a couple sprint triathlons. I haven't identified the races yet, but I've started training and its become fun again. In fact, 'fun' is a huge, underrated factor to staying motivated...

Do what you love doing... Set some new goals to push yourself... Get your butt of the couch and go ____! (you can fill in the blank, right?)

I have done 2 sprint triathlons the past year or so and I love them. I have to learn to be a runner though. Duathlons are on tap for this years competitions for my husband and self. Good luck and enjoy the sprints!
