Notes from Matt Carter

Matt Carter (Lead pastor for Austin Stone) came and spoke today for our Austin Church Planter Network meeting. He really did a great job and was incredibly transparent - I think there's a lesson in that...

He spoke about his battle with Cancer and the lessons God has been teaching him. His talk started with this... Never trust a man of God who doesn't walk with a limp.

Here are some nuggets:

There is a direct connection between understanding that life is like a vapor (Pslam 39) and living life with Holy Urgency.

Austin needs more men of God who will live with a holy urgency or unction.

Suffering is a beautiful Hermeneutic. - John Piper
