Keep going forward

I coached two soccer games today. I must have said it a million times - "Keep Going Forward." In soccer (and in life) good things always happen when you keep going forward. Momentum is a powerful, beautiful thing. However, most players (and us) are too tentative. We kick and wait to see what happens. We kick and then see if it was good enough to follow - but then there are the few... They kick and just keep going. A defender will miss, or bobble the ball, and they are in position to score. It happens almost every time.

We leaders need to make this a maxim: Keep going forward. Don't act and wait. Don't act and hope that one action will be enough. Keep going forward. Momentum will gain...trust it.

I am not saying we rush ahead foolishly. I am not saying we act without thinking. All I am saying is that if we will commit to pressing forward, good things will happen!
