Are you writing a movie? ...an independent film? Have you always wanted to listen to other people talk about their "process"? Do you think you'd like someone besides your spouse to share your crazy ideas with? Are you frustrated with writing and giving up hope? (okay, that last one is me...)
Well then - You are invited to attend the first ever meeting of the North Austin Filmmakers Guild!! The meeting takes place Tuesday, April 17 @ 8:15PM at the Austinconnexion Community Center. We'll start in the coffeeshop then move to a room depending on the group's size. The community center is at 7600 Woodrow Ave. Austin, TX 78757 (Aka: Crestview Baptist Church). The coffeeshop entrance is on the corner of Woodrow and Dartmouth.
Here's what to expect from the first meeting! Woo hoo!
We plan the first meeting to mainly be a discussion of what we want/need from a group like this. Your input is needed and will help us design future meetings! Our vision is for one meeting a month (We've labeled "AA for Screenwriters") where we discuss projects, network, talk shop, give advice, and make friends - and a second meeting over lunch somewhere, where we deepen friendships and dive into some kind of focused topic.
Here's who can come:
Anyone that is writing, planning to write, or trying to write scripts for film. Basically, everyone is invited! And we want you to spread the word too - so if you know someone who might enjoy talking about writing movie scripts, send them our way!
What we need from you:
Spread the word - go ahead, invite someone! Forward this email and spam all your buddies! Then, come to the meeting and give your thoughts and input... You can also email me with any questions you might have too.
